City of Palm Coast Summer Recreation and Camps
The City of Palm Coast is planning a summer of fun and recreation for children and teens through its Summer Camp at Parks & Recreation, as well as summer golf and tennis camps.Families can register now for any of the camps. Here are details for each:
- Summer Camp at Palm Coast Parks and Recreation: Arts and crafts, games, active outdoor play and special activities each week are planned for Summer Camp for students in grades K-8. Camp runs Monday through Friday from June 10 to Aug. 9, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (early drop-off/late pick-up available) at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway, NE. Campers have the opportunity to attend field trips once per week at an additional fee. The Palm Coast Summer Camp participates in the Summer Food Program through the Flagler County School District. Registered participants are provided free lunch and afternoon snack each day of camp. Students can be registered for one or multiple weeks. Pre-registration and payment of $75 fee is required. - Palm Harbor Golf Club Junior Golfers Summer Camp: Youth 6 to 16 can learn the game of golf at summer camps in June, July or August at Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Drive, Palm Coast. Friendly competitions will be held, and sportsmanship and golf etiquette will be taught, along with skills such as short game, full swing and putting. Camp weeks will be: June 10-13; July 8-11; and Aug. 5-9, with registration deadline a week prior to the start of the camp week. Each day of camp will include four hours of instruction, access to all practice facilities, plus lunch, snacks and drinks. Each session is $185. Pre-registration is required; class size limited. - Palm Coast Tennis Center Junior Tennis Summer Camps: Youth 5 to 17 will have several summer Tennis Camp options at Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. The Quickstart Camp for ages 5 to 8 will introduce brand-new players to basic strokes and concepts, hand-eye coordination drills and fitness; Quickstart weeks are June 17-21 and July 15-19. In the Beginner Camp for ages 9 to 13, brand-new players will be introduced to basic tennis concepts, stroke, movement and beginning point play; Beginner weeks are June 10-14 and July 8-12. Intermediate/Advanced Camp for ages10-17 will focus on point play, advanced stroke development and match play – with a challenge ladder for the week; Intermediate/Advanced weeks are June 24-28 and July 22-26. In addition, two weeks of Open Camp are set for July 29-Aug.2 and Aug. 5-9 for all levels. All camps run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $99/week or $30/day. 2013 ESE Parent Survey
The Florida Department of Education is conducting a survey designed to provide the state with information on how well schools are supporting parents' involvement in their child's education. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), states must report this information to the federal government on an annual basis. Please visit www.esesurvey.com to complete the survey. The survey will be available until June 1, 2013.
2012-2013 After-School Art Series with VSAFL Artist in Residence, Chris Kastle
This phenomenal art program is open to all students receiving Exceptional Student Education Services within the Flagler County Public School District with a current IEP. Sessions begin 9/06/2012 from 3:45 P.M. - 4:45 P.M. at the Government Services Building.
