| The Facilities Department has a vital role in communicating the District's vision to local governments and citizens through the local government comprehensive planning process, required by Florida Statutes 163 and 1013. This process also includes developing, permitting and implementing specific design plans for new construction and remodeling/renovation of existing facilities. The design team works with educators, local government officials and the Board to achieve a design that meets District and community needs, including emergency shelter and co-location to the greatest extent possible of schools with community facilities such as parks, libraries and community centers and the coordination of utilities, roads, sidewalks and bus stops. |
