This is the first year for an End-of-Course Assessment (EOC) in Florida, and the results for the Algebra I EOC shows students in Flagler County Schools scored Third Place in the State regarding the percentage of students scoring in the top third!  We are also among the leaders in the percentage of students scoring in the lowest third!  Although these scores are not yet a part of school grades, it is a fantastic reflection that our teachers are teaching the standards and our students are learning important algebra content.

Our students also received this EOC assessment  entirely via computer, representing a very successful  introduction to computer-based testing, meaning more time for our students to learn the important algebra content and a quicker turnaround for results in the years ahead. Since this is a transition year for this new EOC assessment, results are being reported on a special scale known as a T-score scale of 20-80. On this scale, a score of approximately 50 is at the statewide average. As you will see from the results, Flagler at 56 is among the top 3 districts in the state for this assessment.  Individual Student Reports will indicate whether the student’s score falls within the high, middle, or low levels as compared to other students in Florida. For students who entered grade 9 in the 2010-11 school year and are enrolled in Algebra 1 or an equivalent course, each student’s Algebra 1 EOC Assessment score must be used to calculate 30 percent of his or her final grade in the course.  The school by school breakdown has not been received by DOE but will be coming soon.  Please check our website for these results.
