Flagler Schools' Strategic Planning Process
On July 13 2016, the Flagler County Strategic Planning Steering Committee met for the first time. These volunteers have been charged by Superintendent Oliva to assist in the development of a revised Strategic Plan for Flagler County. Superintendent Oliva wants to ensure that the entire Flagler County Community is afforded the opportunity to provide input prior to setting any new goals or initiating any new initiatives. The Steering Committee represents various facets of the school district and community. In addition, a community-wide survey will go out in the next month, and a Town Hall meeting will be held on August 18.
During the first meeting the Steering Committee members were introduced to the Strategic Planning Process and began delving into information regarding the “State of the District”. This work is aligned to the first two of the four guiding questions of the strategic planning process :
- Where are we?
- What do we have to work with?
- Where do we want to be?
- How will we get there?
The second meeting of the Steering Committee will be held at the district office on July 28, 2016 at 5:30 pm. The public is welcome to attend as observers to the process. Stay tuned here for more updates!
