Resource Showcase Coming to Flagler Schools
Breakout Session Topics:
As part of Bullying Awareness Month, Flagler Schools will be hosting an informative seminar at the Resource Showcase open to students, families, and community members to help bring awareness to bullying in our schools and community as well as ways to effectively address bullying.
Transition Planning is a process mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) for all students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in K-12 education. The purpose is to facilitate the student's move from school to post-school activities. The transition planning must: a) start before the student turns 16; b) be individualized; c) be based on the student's strengths, preferences and interests; and d) include opportunities to develop functional skills for work and community life. The goal of this training is to help families of students with disabilities to better understand the secondary transition process and how to effectively participate.
Grandparents as Parents
The first Grandparents as
Parents meeting of this school year will be held on Thursday, October
19 th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Our guest speaker will be Attorney Raven

be directed to our meeting space. Just like last year, our meeting will be
held on the same night as the District Resource Showcase in hopes that
you can come a little early or stay a little late and learn about some of
the resources available to families in our area. We hope to see you for
this informative night of networking.
