The School Board of Flagler County has opened the search process for the District’s next Superintendent of Schools. Current Superintendent Jacob Oliva has recently been selected as K-12 Vice-Chancellor with the Florida Department of Education. He will transition to this new position at the end of the current school year. On Friday morning, the Board entered into a contract with the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) which will lead the search.
The selection of a Superintendent to lead our schools is one of the most important decisions our School Board makes. It’s a decision which impacts students, parents, employees and our entire Flagler County community.
During this search process, public involvement will be welcomed. A Community Advisory Committee made up of community members chosen by our School Board members and who represent a cross-section of Flagler County will take part in the search. An online survey will also be utilized to give our community a voice in this process.
Links on the side of this page will be used for more specific information.
We will also use this page to list other important information regarding the Superintendent Search, including links to minutes and videos of search-related school board meetings, etc. Other relevant information, including the finalist applications submitted by candidates, will be posted as the search progresses.
We encourage members of our Flagler County community to stay connected to keep up to date on the search.
