Response to Intervention
Helping All Students to Succeed
Response to Intervention (or RtI) is a system of supports used to identify and support students who may have challenges in maintaining academic success or behavioral expectations. There are three levels, and students in the program are monitored and mentored by a dedicated teacher. All students are in Tier 1. To move into Tiers 2 or 3, or to move out of Tiers 2 or 3, a team meets to review data collected. The team is made up of teacher(s) administration, parents/guardians, and the student’s case manager. There are standard charts that are used to track the progress the student is making toward their goal(s). The case manager works directly with the student and his/her teachers to meet those goals.
| Level | Supports |

| Program | Definition |
| Positive Behavior Supports | A comprehensive system that recognizes students for doing the right thing. Examples include "Dog Bones" (which allows students to enter into a drawing every week for rewards like game tickets, shirts, gift cards, etc.), No-referral activities (pep rallies, in-school games, etc.), and positive language used on signage (telling students what to do rather than what not to do - Bulldog Expectations). |
| Learning Lab | A resource room for students with an IEP to provide for accommodations and for instruction in Learning Strategies (such as organization, time management, study skills). |
| Linear Park | A Service-Learning Program at Linear Park in Palm Coast that focuses on environmental education designed for a small group of at-risk students. |
| Student Success Program | Self-contained and designed to provide small group academic and behavioral interventions. Students focus on getting back on track with their classes in a self-paced curriculum while getting instruction in positive behaviors and goal setting. |
| Program | Definition |
| Differentiated Learning Lab | An after-school component of the Student Success Program where upperclassmen who are behind their cohort work with certified teachers in a small setting to get back on track to graduate. |
| Pathways Academy | Students who require supports more intensive than those provided in the Student Success Program may be recommended for placement at Pathways. For more information go to http://pathways.flaglerschools.com. |
| Home Instruction | Students with a disability may be recommended for Home Instruction by the IEP team after reviewing all data. |
