The School Board of Flagler County’s search for a new Superintendent of Schools is now underway, with the help of the Florida School Boards Association. As part of the search process, community input is vital.

A Community Forum will be held Thursday, November 21st (new date) at Buddy Taylor Middle School’s cafeteria. This will give the search team a better idea of what community members value in the next superintendent. The Community Forum starts at 6:00 pm.

There will also be an opportunity for Flagler Schools employees to weigh in. An Internal Focus Group meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th at the Buddy Taylor Middle School Media Center. This is open to all Flagler County School District employees. It begins at 6:00 pm.

There is also an online survey that is open to anyone now live on the www.FlaglerSchools.com website. The survey will close on Friday, November 22nd. All superintendent-related items, including the survey can be found at www.FlaglerSchools.com/SuperSearch, which will be updated regularly throughout the search process.

Board members have laid out the timeline, which has a new Superintendent of Schools named by March 17, 2020, with a projected start date of June 1, 2020. Current superintendent James Tager previously announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2020.
