Inaugural EPAC ESE Awards to be Handed Out
Posted on 11/18/2019

Flagler Schools, in conjunction with the ESE Parent Advisory Council (EPAC) will honor ten individuals nominated for doing exceptional things for our Exceptional Student Education students. These first-ever EPAC ESE Awards will be given out at Tuesday’s School Board meeting. That meeting gets underway at 6:00 in the Board Chambers of the Government Services Building in Bunnell. The public is encouraged to attend.

The awards are designed to highlight students, teachers, volunteers, parents, and staff members who do amazing things for students with disabilities. In all, more than 200 nominates were submitted to the ESE Parent Advisory Council. A committee within EPAC then narrowed the field down to ten individuals who will receive these inaugural awards tomorrow evening. The winners represent every facet of ESE within Flagler Schools.

The EPAC is a collaborative effort between Flagler Schools and parents of students with disabilities. This effort has already improved collaboration and communication between the groups. It is also the goal of the EPAC to promote best practices in inclusive education throughout the district.
