The Flagler County Health Department has been notified of and confirmed all cases of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 below.  They will conduct contact tracing to determine who has been in close contact with those individuals. Close contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of the infected person for at least 15 minutes. If the health department determines you or your child has been in close contact, they will notify you within 24 hours and you or your child will need to quarantine, staying home from work or school for 10 days from the date of contact with the individual.  If the health department does not contact you, it means the individual was not in close contact.  In the event you or your child develops symptoms, the health department offers COVID-19 testing six days a week throughout Flagler County. http://flagler.floridahealth.gov/

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness mainly spread from person-to-person, through respiratory droplets.  The most common symptoms associated with COVID-19 are fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. Our intent with this notification is to make you aware of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19.  Please monitor for symptoms, and if they develop, stay home and consult with a medical professional.

The District is working with the Department of Health to monitor for any additional cases, ensure our school environment is as safe as possible, and provide you with accurate information in a timely manner.  The District’s Custodial Department has enhanced its cleaning procedures to ensure continual deep cleaning is occurring at all impacted sites below to assist in proactively preventing the spread of any illness.  All areas used by an infected individual will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.  District cleaning staff will focus especially on frequently touched surfaces.

Remember, the best way to prevent illness is by limiting exposure to the virus.  Please note the best practices for prevention listed below:

  • Maintain social distancing.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water; if soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face covering
  • Stay home if you are sick.
