Update for Curbside Meals

Update for Curbside Meals
Posted on 09/15/2020

Beginning Monday, September 21st, Flagler Schools will resume USDA’s free meal program for children 18 and younger in schools and the community.  This includes students attending face-to-face classes as well as those choosing remote and virtual instruction options.  This program will remain available through December 31st or until USDA funding is no longer available.
All students attending face-to-face classes at the following schools will receive their breakfast and lunch meals at no charge:

  • Old Kings Elementary School
  • Belle Terre Elementary School
  • Bunnell Elementary School
  • Rymfire Elementary School
  • Wadsworth Elementary School
  • Buddy Taylor Middle School
  • Indian Trails Middle School
  • Matanzas High School
  • Flagler Palm Coast High School

A free, weekly curbside meal distribution will be provided for children not attending in-person classes.  This meal distribution will take place at Bunnell Elementary School, using the old bus loop, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  Meals will be bundled with five breakfasts and five lunches per child.

Registration for curbside meal distribution is required and must be completed weekly between 8:00 a.m. Monday and 11:59 a.m. Thursday for the following week’s distribution.  The registration form can be found here.

Parents must show their ID when picking up meals, as well as a form of ID for each student requesting meals.  Acceptable forms of ID will include the student’s name on the document/form/card.  Some examples include, but are not limited to: birth certificates, student ID cards, insurance cards, report cards, and baptism certificates.

All parents, regardless  of where their children attend school, are encouraged to apply for free or reduced meal benefits for this school year.  If you have not yet applied for or renewed your application for the 2020-2021 school year, it’s important to do so as soon as possible so the benefits will pick up when this program terminates.  Families may access the meal benefits application at: https://flaglerschools.com/departments/food_services.

IMPORTANT:  If you student receives school meals at a brick and mortar school, they are not eligible for meals through curbside distribution.  USDA regulations prohibit serving more than one breakfast and one lunch per day, per student.
