Registering for a Test

Students must register with the Office of Student Services before they can sit for any test administration. Student information will be collected, as required by the testing platforms. This may include: name, date of birth, address, grade-level, race or ethnicity, social security number, parent content information, immunization information, and exceptionality or accommodation information.

Students must register for the PSAT by August 31. Any home education student who wishes to sit for another exam listed below must request so by March 1Home Education students who are taking FLVS courses must also register by these dates. FLVS will not coordinate testing with Flagler Schools.

All tests are administered at the student's zoned school. Tests are ordered, scheduled, and administered based on the information given by the parent/guardian to  Student Services during registration.

Testing Accommodations

If testing accommodations are needed, a copy of the student's most recent IEP or 504 Plan is required. Flagler Schools cannot advocate for accommodations on the student's behalf.

Requirements to Test

The administering-school will contact registered students with the details of the test administration, including the date, time, and location. On the day of testing, students must present a photo ID for admission into the school.

Students cannot bring any materials with them. This includes bookbags, writing utensils, computers, food, drinks, or books/papers. The only exceptions are student-required devices for accommodations (must be pre-approved), and student ID credentials.

Parents are responsible for transportation. Failure to show may result in forfeiture of the opportunity to sit for the test. If the student cannot make the appointment, they should contact the school immediately.

Available Testing Options

The tests listed below are optional, as they are NOT required for home education students:

    3-10 Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) English/Language Arts
    (includes writing and reading parts)
    3-8 FSA Mathematics
    5 or 8 Statewide Science Assessment (SSA)
    6-8 Civics EOC Exam
    6-12 Algebra 1 End-of-Course Exam (EOC)
    6-12 Geometry EOC Exam
    9-12  Biology EOC Exam
    9-12 United States History EOC Exam
    9-11 PSAT (there is a charge $14 for PSAT9 and $18 for PSAT/NMSQT)
