Food Allergies / Special Diet

Special Meal Accommodations Federal regulations are in place to ensure that children with disabilities have the same opportunities as other children. The Flagler County School District’s Department of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) strives to accommodate the dietary needs of all students whenever possible.
FNS is required to obtain a Request for Special Meals and/or Accommodations form for any student requiring a menu accommodation due to a disability that affects the student’s health. To submit the request for food substitution, use the Request for Special Meals and/or Accommodations form.
This form must be completed and signed by a Licensed Physician (MD, DO), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Physician's Assistant (PA) or Registered Dietitian (RD) identifying the disability and required meal accommodations. Submit completed forms to the Flagler Food and Nutrition Department District Office at 1769 E Moody Blvd. Building #2, Bunnell, FL 32110, or fax to (386)-437-7570.

An updated form is required each school year, and when a licensed medical authority changes diet orders. If meal accommodations are no longer required, a cancellation letter signed by a licensed medical authority is required. Cancellation Letter for Special Meals and/or Accommodations.

Please Note: Flagler Food and Nutrition Services offers a diverse menu daily to appeal to student preferences. In addition, while we do not serve peanuts or tree nuts, we can not claim ourselves a “nut-free facility” due to some of our products being manufactured on the same equipment as peanuts and/or tree nuts.
