Rules for Riding the Bus

We strive to provide our students with the safest transportation possible. To ensure safety, all students are expected to follow the Flagler Schools Code of Student Conduct, as well as the School Bus Rules listed below. 
Please review these rules with your students, and remind them that riding the school bus is a privilege, not a right.

  • Obey the bus driver
  • Remain seated
  • Talk quietly
  • Keep your hands to yourself
  • No eating or drinking on the bus
  • No horseplay or fighting
  • No profanity
  • Keep head, hands, and feet inside the bus
  • Throwing objects is prohibited
  • Keep the bus clean
  • Tobacco, e-cigarettes, and alcohol are prohibited
  • Do not damage or tamper with bus equipment
  • Possession of illegal drugs or weapons prohibited
  • The bus driver is authorized to assign seats
  • Be courteous and have a safe trip

Covid-19 Safety Precautions

Bus Capacity
  • Elementary Schools: Two students per seat
  • Middle and High Schools: 50% student capacity

Boarding the Bus
  • Mornings: The first students to board the bus will proceed to the rear of the bus, and fill seats from the rear to the front as the bus proceeds throughout the route.
  • Afternoons: Students will fill seats from the rear to the front of the bus, from the last stop to the first stop
