2020-2021 Parent Resource Guide

ESE Parent Advisory Council (EPAC)
The EPAC is a collaborative effort between Flagler Schools and parents of students with disabilities to improve collaboration and communication between the groups and to promote best practices in inclusive education throughout the district. For more details of the format of the committee, refer to the bylaws here.

Grandparents as Parents
This group is open to all Grandparents parenting one or more grandchildren.  This unique group has a variety of guest speakers that share available resources. We are working on guest speakers for this year! Our meetings will be held remotely for the first half of the year and meetings for the second half of the year are yet to be determined.
ESOL Parent Leadership Committee (PLC)
This group is open to all ESOL parents in the Flagler County School District. The group meets to discuss the ESOL program, it's screening and monitoring of English acquisition process, and to gather input of our English learner families. Spanish and sometimes Russian translators are in attendance at these meetings.

Parent Teacher Organizations and School Advisory Councils can be found at our schools. These are great ways for parents to be involved outside their child's classroom. Contact school administration for additional information.

Parents and Students Rights
Parents and Students have a number of rights under Health Information Privacy Rights (HIPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). We've attached links to information and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about each of these programs.
