In October, the School Board took time to honor our schools. Representative from our 2019-2020 Golden School Award-winning campuses were on hand. To be named a Golden School Award, 80% of the school's staff is trained in school volunteerism, the school has a designated volunteer coordinator, and the total number of volunteer service hours equals or exceeds the number of students enrolled.
The Board also honored the schools for earning PBIS Model status. Each year, Florida PBIS schools can apply for model status, which uses specific implementation and outcome criteria to recognize schools. Part of the process, to become a model school, requires an implementation walk through that focuses on a well-balanced discipline system to include rewards, consequences and expectations

Dr. Kimberli Halliday, Transition Coordinator for Flagler Schools updated the Board on Disability History and Awareness Weeks. It was a great presentation!

Finally, the School Board honored Kylie Bruckert, Jack Moffatt, Sarah Flannery, and Nicholas Vilay for being named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. We wish them the best of luck as they progress through this demanding process to be named a Finalist.
