Bunnell FFA Members Stand OutBy: Brittney Fraser, Chapter President

Palm Coast, FL.     Step Up and Stand Out – with this year’s National FFA motto in mind, the Bunnell FFA was determined to step up and stand out in their own community. To get the year off on the right foot the Bunnell FFA actively engaged in back to school activities.

Prior to hosting any events, the Bunnell FFA had candidates go through a selection process to determine the 2008-2009 chapter officer team. Prospective officers had to fill out an extensive application including a long response area, a full resume, and teacher recommendations. Following, students went through an interview process in front of several school administrators and shortly after, the officer team was complete. Congratulations to this years officers: Brittney Fraser (President), Riley Shugg (Vice President), Lauren Rawlins (Secretary), Brianna Bach (Treasurer), Emily Carbrey (Reporter), Megan Wilk (Sentinel), Jessica Haire (Parliamentarian), and Colleen Carbrey (Historian).

The new officers then hosted the annual Kick Off Cookout of the Bunnell and Buddy Taylor FFA chapters at Hershel King Park on Wednesday September 24, 2008. Friends, family, and members gathered to enjoy nonstop games, activities and delicious food. Overall the cookout was a resounding success with a turnout of sixty-seven attendees.

If you are interested in becoming an affiliate of the FFA Organization, we could always use new members and community support. The Bunnell FFA Alumni meets the third Wednesday of every month and 6PM in the Cafeteria. October 15, 2008 will be this months alumni meeting, so come and join the fun and support the hard work of our local FFA members.

FFA promotes personal growth, premier leadership and career success.
