  Jennifer Germano's

          2nd Grade

Hello and welcome to my website!  I thought you might enjoy learning a little bit about me. So here it goes!

I completed my internship at Old Kings Elementary and moved on to a substitute position with Title 1 students.  I have also taught 2nd grade for two years at OKES and I will began my 3rd year teaching 2nd grade at Wadsworth Elementary.

I am an ESOL Endorsed teacher, which means I have completed courses on how to teach students who are learning English as a second language.  Also, I recently completed my Reading Endorsment.  The Reading and ESOL Endorsments or REESOL shows that I have studied strategies to best teach my students in all areas of the curriculum.  This coming year I will start classes at UCF towards my masters degree in Educational Technology.

In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, reading, cooking, gardening, shopping, beach, and spending time with my family.  I am married with two boys that are currently students at OKES, but will transfer with me to WES.  My parents live close by me and we spend a lot of time together eating dinners, going to parks, and anything that involves them with grandma and grandpa time.

I think it is important for children to have a love for reading and it is not only my job to teach students how to read, but to share with them my enjoyment of reading. Whether it be stories, newspaper articles, or even magazines, reading is knowledge and can lead to a better understanding of yourself and those around you.
